Attendance Matters

Although less than two months remain in the school year, remember every day counts! Everyday is an opportunity to build knowledge and prepare for future lessons, which is a hard thing to make up. It is also important to remember that our funding is tied directly to attendance, so every day your child is absent the school misses out on roughly $60.  While we always want students to stay home when ill, we strongly discourage taking extra time off for travel or to play “hooky”. Summer is coming (despite what the recent cold weather is telling us) but it’s not here quite yet, so let’s keep the focus on learning all the way until June 13th. It’s the Wildcat Way!

Seventh Grade Immunizations

Hey, sixth grade families- Remember to get those required immunizations taken care of prior to the first day of the 2019-2020 school year.

Lunch and After School Bills

You can help keep our cafeteria and after school programs running smoothly by paying bills on time. Drop by or call the office to see if your child has an outstanding balance.

Energy Efficient Lighting

Over the break Hydesville School got an energy upgrade! Thanks to a program offered by the Redwood Coast Energy Authority our classrooms, gym, and office lights were replaced with high efficiency LEDs.

Please Call the Office

Although we want to see our students at school every day, we know illness does happen. When it does please make sure to call Miss Arlene as soon as possible so she knows to mark your child absent. This record keeping is required by law, and a quick call is all it takes to save her the time to call you.

Testing is Coming

In the coming weeks annual state tests for grades 3-8 will begin. As the date approaches for your class your teacher will ask you to ensure your child begins their day well rested, well fed, and prepared to do their very best. Beginning this year paper copies of test results will not be mailed home in July, but instead sent electronically via SchoolWise sometime midsummer.
