Music Returns to Hydesville

Beginning this week a music program will return to Hydesville! Miss Volta will deliver classroom music instruction to grades kindergarten through five, and offer beginning choir and beginning band to grades six through eight. I imagine that news is music to everyone’s ears!

Pancake Breakfast and Egg Hunt

Join the graduating class of 2020 on Saturday, April 20th from 8-10am in the school gym for a fundraiser pancake breakfast. Then at 10am head out to the field for an egg hunt with the Hydesville Volunteer Fire Department. Fun!

We’re Hiring!

We are seeking outstanding teachers to join the Hydesville Elementary family next year, and we want your help to spread the word.

  • Middle School Teacher (Grades 6-8)-  Experience in science education preferred, but not required. We are likely departmentalizing our middle school classes next year so the selected candidate will work closely with our amazing upper grade team.
  • Resource Teacher (Full Time)- In addition to managing a reasonable caseload of resource eligible students, the selected candidate will also help coordinate our online speech services.

If you know a new or veteran teacher looking to join the faculty of one of the finest schools in Humboldt County please encourage them to visit the County Office of Education website, or better yet, contact the office to hear all about why Hydesville Elementary is the place they want to be!

Movie Night

The student council is hosting a showing of Shark Tales 2 in the school gym on Friday, April 12. The show starts at 6pm.

Penny Wars

This week the penny wars will rage at Hydesville School. Pennies dropped in your classroom jar earn one point each. But any silver coin dropped in another classroom’s jar equals negative points. Which class will win the penny wars? We all win since all proceeds go to the entire school!

Spring Break

Spring Break is April 15-19. Please plan accordingly.
