Booster Club Fundraiser

The Hydesville Sports Booster Club is holding its annual March Madness fundraiser at the Fortuna Fire Hall on Saturday, March 23, from 6-9pm. Raffles, silent auction, no host bar, and live streamed NCAA games for only $30 per person, or $50 per couple! Please note, although all proceeds go to Hydesville Elementary athletics, this is a 21 and older event. Please see the office for tickets.

ScholarDollars

Please visit www.MyScholarDollars.com once a day and vote for Hydesville Elementary to help us win $5,000 for our library and after school program. This program, sponsored by the California Department of the Treasury, awards money based on school size, so we have a real chance of winning in the under 350 student category. But only we vote daily and spread the word!

Special Assemblies with Bryan Stow

This Friday we are very lucky to have Bryan Stow visiting our school for not one, but three assemblies- grades K-2, 3-5, and 6-8. Mr. Stow’s story is moving and inspirational, and intended to help children aspire to resist bullying.

Here’s a bit from the Bryan Stow Foundation website: “The Bryan Stow Foundation was founded out of survival, hope, courage, and triumph over tragedy. On March 31, 2011, a senseless, brutal attack following a baseball game nearly took his life. Bryan Stow is now on a mission to help communities put an end to bullying and fan violence.”

Track and Field

The second year of track and field at Hydesville School is nearly upon us! Grades 5-8 are invited to practice and compete in a variety of track and field events at meets from Fortuna to Arcata. Contact Lindsay Henderson with any questions you may have – henderson@hydesvilleschool.org

Priorities Survey

If you have not done so already, please take our annual priorities survey online (found here),  request a paper copy from the office, or follow the link on the school website homepage under “LCAP Survey”. Nearly 60 parents, staff, and community members have weighed in on the future of Hydesville School. Now it’s your turn!
