ScholarDollars

Starting Monday visit www.MyScholarDollars.com once a day and vote for Hydesville Elementary to help us win $5,000 for our library and after school program. This program, sponsored by the CA Dept of the Treasury, awards money based on school size, so we have a real chance of winning in the under 350 student category. But only we vote daily and spread the word!

Booster Club Fundraiser

The Hydesville Sports Booster Club is holding its annual March Madness fundraiser at the Fortuna Fire Hall on Saturday, March 23, from 6-9pm. Please note, although all proceeds go to Hydesville Elementary athletics, this is a 21 and older event. See the office for tickets.

Lost Keys

We’ve had a set of Honda car keys in the office for several weeks. If you thought your spare set was lost for good, you may be incorrect!

Lunch Bills

Please remember to help keep our school lunch program in the black. All outstanding lunch bills must be paid by the end of each month.

Teacher Feature

Katie Briseño is this month’s featured teacher! Although Mrs. Briseño is leaving us to be closer to family in Ohio at the end of the school year, her lasting impact on our students, and school, will remain. I could talk about Katie’s love of Harry Potter, her engaging use of technology, or her sense of humor, but instead I’ll share what I heard one her sixth grade students say as school was released recently, “Bye, Mrs. Briseño, we love you!”

Staff Spotlight

Becky Helton is many things to our school, and all of them great! Just listen to her infectious laugh and you’ll agree. She is our second grade classroom aide, recess monitor, cafeteria aide, speech program aide, and Mr. Alex’s mother-in-law. Becky began her career at Hydesville Elementary as a classroom volunteer in her now grown child’s classroom and has been helping students ever since!
