Family Pizza Dinner

Didn’t get to join us for Coffee with the Principal? How does pizza with the family sound? Join us this Tuesday from 5:30-7:00 pm in the gym to learn about how Hydesville Elementary is doing in all areas from staffing, to academics, to school climate. After that you will have a chance to share what you think we are doing well and brainstorm ideas to make us even better in the future. Dinner and childcare provided. Unfortunately we can only provided childcare for school aged children.

Spelling Bee

Big congratulations to our very own Samantha Duncan for being named the middle school champion at the Ell River Valley Regional Spelling Bee! Samantha heads to the county bee this Friday with a chance to move onto the state spelling bee. Good luck, Samantha!

Sports Update

Boys basketball and cheer conclude this week at the Jaycees tournament in Crescent City. A big shout out to the student athletes, coaches, and supportive parents that made this season so successful! Our student athletes represented Hydesville Elementary with distinction and they should be proud.

In other athletics news, look for information soon regarding our 2019 5th-8th grade track and field team. After her success as soccer coach our school cook, Lindsay Henderson, has agreed to head this team, along with the generous help of several volunteer coaches.

We Still Want Your Box Tops!

This is your last chance to send in Box Tops for Education for the school year. It’s an easy way to raise funds through our Parent Group and all proceeds directly benefit our school.

Athletic Director

We are seeking an athletic director for the 2019-2020 school year. With the graduation of his son in June our current AD, Travis Victorine, is stepping down, and will be sorely missed!

The AD assists the school administrator in securing coaches and supplies, coordinates schedules with regional elementary schools, attends home games, and is an all around ambassador for Hydesville Elementary athletics. Travis has graciously offered to help the incoming director learn the ropes.

If you have questions or are interested in applying for this stipend position please contact the office.

Teachers of Excellence

It’s not too late! You have until this Thursday, February 28th to nominate one of our amazing teachers for a Humboldt County Excellence in Teaching award. This is a great opportunity to highlight our amazing teachers and excellent school to the rest of Humboldt County.

    Visit https://hcoe.org/excellence-in-teaching/ for more information.
